Architects Registration Board | Private Prosecution | Southwark Crown Court
Kangs Solicitors are instructed by a client in the defence of the first ever prosecution to be brought by The Architects Registration Board (‘ARB’).
Frances Murray of Kangs Solicitors outlines the current position.
Nature Of The Alleged Fraud | Kangs Fraud Solicitors
The ARB was established by Parliament in 1997 to regulate the architects’ profession in the United Kingdom and its duties are contained in the Architects Act 1997 (the ‘Act’).
The purpose of the Act is to provide regulation in order to protect the profession and the public interest.
It is alleged that our client provided false documentation and information to the ARB as part of the application process to qualify as an architect.
Our client is indicted on four counts of fraud, contrary to Section 1 of the Fraud Act 2006 and the Prosecution opened its case today.
