Firearms Charges Withdrawn | Delighted Client | Kangs Serious Crime Solicitors

Share

Kangs Solicitors have successfully secured the withdrawal of two very serious firearms charges against a client who was due to face Trial at Birmingham Crown Court on the 16th July 2018.

Amandeep Murria, who represented our client, reports.

Preparation of Our Client’s Defence | Kangs National Crime Defence Solicitor

Preparation of our client’s defence included:

  • identifying and instructing an appropriate Expert to review the Cell Site Analysis relied upon by the Prosecution
  • consideration of instructing a Facial Mapping Expert
  • attending potential defence witnesses for the provison of alibi defence support.
  • obtaining instructions and the preparation and service of a detailed Defence Statement setting out our client’s position and the reasons behind his denial of liability.

Successful Outcome | Kangs Criminal Defence Lawyers

Following examination by the Prosecution of the Defence Statement, the case against our client was re-considered and it was accepted that the alleged evidence against our client was insufficient to put to a jury at trial with any expectation of being able to secure any convictions.

Accordingly, the Prosecution offered no evidence at a Court Hearing with the result that the Court formally declared ‘Not Guilty’ verdicts.

Our Client stated:

‘Thank you for fighting my corner and achieving a fantastic outcome for me’.

A cut-throat defence arises where, during criminal proceedings, a defendant gives evidence on his own behalf and which is not only likely to strengthen the prosecution case but is designed to damage a co-defendant’s case to the extent that it may go as far as blaming the co-defendant whilst endeavouring to exonerate himself.
