Illegal Waste Disposal | Kangs National Environment Law Team

Two Birmingham based companies have been prosecuted and fined for offences relating to the illegal disposal of waste.

The Circumstances | Kangs National Regulatory Team

Company 1 pleaded guilty to four counts under the Environment Protection Act 1990 of:

  • Failing to comply with notices requiring written information as to how waste from the business was disposed of; and
  • Knowingly, permitting controlled waste to be deposited on to land near to the business premises.

Company 2 pleaded guilty to one count of:

  • Failing to comply with notices requiring written information as to how waste from the business was disposed of.

Company 1 was fined £10,000, ordered to pay £1,605 in clean-up costs and £975 in Prosecution costs.

Company 2 was fined £6,000, ordered to pay £1,605 in clean-up costs and £975 in Prosecution costs.
