The Paradise Papers | Tax Avoidance | Kangs Solicitors

Share

Kangs Solicitors are regularly instructed by high net worth individuals charged with an array of alleged fraudulent financial activity.

Frances Murray of Kangs Solicitors comments upon recent press revelations.

What Are The Paradise Papers? | Kangs Financial Advisory Team

The ‘Paradise Papers’ represent the latest leak of financial papers claimed by the press to reveal tax avoidance on a massive level by named high worth individuals along the lines of last year’s ‘Panama Papers’ headlines.

The descriptive name represents the exotic locations at which many of the ‘offshore’ companies providing the necessary facilities are to be found.

It is stated that there are more than 1,400GBs of data containing over thirteen million documents which would appear to be indicative of the level of the reported activity.

Many of the documents emanate from Appleby, a law firm which has become one of the best known offshore legal service providers and more than fourteen thousand UK addresses appear in its client register.

Whose Names Appear? | Kangs International Financial Advisory Team

The Paradise Papers reveal the identities of hundreds of politicians, celebrities and high net worth individuals, many of whom are from the UK involved in tax avoidance schemes.

Consequences And Importance Of The Leaks | Kangs Tax Team

  • As was the case with the Panama Papers, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists is working on the papers alongside over one hundred media partners from sixty seven countries.
  • These media partners say that investigation is necessary because previous data leaks have frequently exposed wrong doing.
